35 Hours per week (9am - 5pm)

Responsibilities:

Supporting children within a timeframe aligned with their needs is paramount. It's imperative that children under care receive tailored attention in accordance with their care or pathway plan to ensure their progression and facilitate their journey towards realizing their full potential as adults.

  • Consistently employ child-centered practices, placing children at the forefront of professional assessments, planning, interventions, and reviews. Actively seek and incorporate children's views and wishes, appropriate to their age and comprehension level, to gain insight into their world and tailor interventions and assistance accordingly.

  • Demonstrate effective professional leadership to foster collaboration among professionals in addressing the needs of children in various circumstances, including those under child protection plans, privately fostered children, and those in care and transitioning out of care.

  • Collaborate with parents or carers to bolster protective factors and mitigate risks to the child's welfare. Establishing rapport and trust is crucial for facilitating behavioral changes in parents, ensuring the child receives safe and appropriate care. In cases where parental cooperation is lacking and alternative safeguarding measures are necessary, explore alternative arrangements for the child's upbringing.

  • Engage with foster carers, special guardians, prospective adopters, and other caregivers to ensure children's needs are met and they can lead as normal a life as possible. Provide support to help children understand their journey to their placement, monitor their health, development, and education progress, and prepare them for the transition to adulthood.
